The most recently developed area of Taipei City, Xinyi district is developed on farm land that has been repurposed to serve the expansion of the city in the eastern direction.
The area is now full of shopping opportunities and has many department stores.
Xinyi District can be most easily reached by taking the Taipei MRT to 'Taipei City Hall Station', coded BL12 on the blue line.
The area is also within walkable distance of Taipei 101.
