Taipei's youth capital, the area around the city's west gate is the old Japanese entertainment district, and is still a popular place for people to gather, shop, and browse the various shops.
Ximending shopping area can be most easily reached by taking the Taipei MRT to 'Ximen Station', coded G12 or BL11 on the green and blue lines.
The area is also within walkable distance of Taipei Main Station.
